The UKLTA held its first roundtables this week in Birmingham and Leeds. Both were extremely well attended with all participants discussing the use of technology in the legal sector. Discussions focused around engaging lawyers with technology products and providers. Conversation has been varied and productive at both events so far. Kirsten Maslen from Thomson Reuters stated:

“The round table was a good opportunity for law firms and in-house lawyers to share expectations around the use of technology, and discuss best practice approaches to selecting and implementing new technology, as well as what additional information they require from the market to help identify solutions that will support their growth strategies.”

It is part of the UKLTA’s 2019/20 strategy to host roundtable events all around the UK to help build a broader understanding of the engagement issues surrounding legal technology. The remaining roundtables are to be held in Bristol (8thOctober), London (10thOctober), Edinburgh (7thNovember), Manchester (20thNovember) and Belfast (28thNovember) – places are filling up quick so please book your place ASAP.
